Green PLACE Advisory Board

Board Type: Orange County Enabling Legislation:
The Green PLACE Advisory Board was created by Resolution No. 2021-M-43 on September 28, 2021.
Membership:
The Advisory Board will consist of seven members, representing all six commission districts wherever possible, and appointed consistent with the provision of Chapter 2, Article VI, Orange County Code. The membership of the Advisory Board will be as follows:
1. Verified member(s) of a recognized environmental conservation
organization (no more than two members);
2. Agricultural interest representative(s) (no more than two members);
3. Academic or educational representative(s) (no more than two
members);
4. At-large representative(s) (no more than two members).

Term Of Office:
Except for the initial terms, appointments to the Advisory Board will be for two years and expire on December 31. To provide for staggered terms of successive membership, the terms of office for three initial members will expire on December 31, 2022 and for four initial members will expire December 31, 2023.
Powers and Duties:
The Advisory Board shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Evaluate parcels of land for acquisition through the Green PLACE program;
2. Establish acquisition priorities;
3. Delineate and recommend policies relating to the uses of Green PLACE properties; and
4. Recommend names for Green PLACE parcels using the procedure outlined in Administrative Regulation 2.16 (Naming of Orange County Parks and Related Facilities).
