Lake Conway Water and Navigation Control District Advisory Board

Special Acts, Chapter 57-1643, took effect August 28, 1957. The Act was amended by House Bill 1033 on June 6, 1986, increasing the membership from three to five members. On October 17, 2000, the Board adopted Ordinance No. 2000-23, increasing the membership from five to seven members. The enabling legislation is being revised to accurately reflect that there are five members (March/2018).
The advisory board shall consist of five members. Members are appointed by the District Commissioner and approved by the Board of County Commissioners from among the residents of the district. The Board of County Commissioners in its meeting of February 6, 1989, added two ex-officio, non-voting members, one each from the Cities of Belle Isle and Edgewood. The enabling legislation is being revised to accurately reflect that there are five members (March/2018).
Powers and Duties:
The purpose of the Lake Conway Water and Navigation Control District Advisory Board is to assist and advise the Board of County Commissioners on matters relating to the Lake Conway Special Taxing District.
