PROGRAM SUPERVISOR

General Functions
  

This is a professional administrative and/or supervisory position, exercising management responsibility for a major program or service activity of the division. Provides supervision to employees assigned to the program, directs and manages the activities.

 Work is performed under the supervision of a Program Manager, Assistant Division Manager, or the Division Manager.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Develops and plans programs for the assigned section of the division.
  • Supervises employees of the assigned program and evaluates their performance.
  • Assures the quality of services provided by the assigned program through observation of performance, evaluation of data, monitoring of records, inspection of facilities and equipment and evaluation of employee performance.
  • Assures that appropriate staff training and development activities are provided for employees of the assigned program.
  • Supervises the maintenance of records kept by the program's employees to ensure that all contractual and legal requirements for record keeping are met and that professional standards are maintained in the quality of records.
  • Coordinates services with the managers of other programs of the division.
  • Prepares and submits reports as required by contractual obligations and for general administrative purposes.
  • Prepares and monitors program budget consistent with County, Department and Division objectives.
  • Performs other responsibilities required to provide the specific services of the assigned program.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Planning, Business Administration, or closely related field and three (3) years of experience coordinating, planning, and administrating programs.

 
Preferences
  

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in specified degrees

Experience working with neighborhood, civic, or non-profit organizations

At least one year of supervisory experience
