Performs routine field work reading meters and noting meter repair or replacement needs.
Distinguishing Characteristics of Work
Responsibilities include reading meters and reporting malfunctioning meters and unauthorized connections. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Meter Reader Supervisor who evaluates performance based on observation, meeting, number of meters read, accuracy and achievement of desired results.

- Reads water meters and record usage.
- Reports meters needing repair and replacement.
- Checks for meter tampering.
- Identifies and reports unauthorized connections.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license. Must be able to work outside in inclement weather, be in good physical health and able to walk five to eight miles per day.
