UTILITIES ACCOUNTANT

General Functions
   Performs responsible accounting work related to the Customer Billing function of the Fiscal and Customer Service Division.

Distinguishing Characteristics of Work

Work is of professional nature encompassing the administration of daily fiscal responsibilities of the Customer Service function.

The employee in this position exercises considerable independent judgment on a daily basis.

Work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Customer Service and is reviewed through periodic conferences and reports.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Responsible for fiscal administration of developer agreements and other contracts and agreements of the Water and Wastewater Systems.
  • Assists in developing, modifying, and maintaining accounting system for the fiscal administration of the Customer Service Function.
  • Maintains billings systems for Revenue and Maintenance Fees.
  • Performs various reconciliation’s of accounts receivable, customer deposits, etc.
  • Works with Utilities Services personnel in maintaining capacity availability information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with major course work in accounting and one year experience.
