CENTER SUPERVISOR

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   This is a highly responsible position coordinating activities, supervising educational staff, and managing program operations and delivery of services for assigned center that must meet standards set by federal, state, and local guidelines. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor. This position requires physical fitness and includes a variety of activities such as running, playing and being actively involved with children. It also includes bending, stooping, and sitting at children's level when assisting in the classroom.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Performs educational and administrative work supervising classroom staff and daily center operations.
  • Develops and coordinates family and community partnerships activities.
  • Completes and submits required reports, forms, and staff performance evaluations.
  • Provides support to the Parent Committee and Policy Council representative.
  • Assumes teaching duties when necessary.
  • Monitors classrooms for compliance
  • Analyses child outcomes and family outcomes data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. Experience teaching in a child care setting serving children birth through eight years of age. Must also have one year of supervisory experience.

OR

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Psychology, Education or a related field and experience teaching in a child care setting serving children birth through eight years of age. Must also have one year of supervisory experience.

OR

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Family Development or a related field with at least 6 college credit hours in Early Childhood, Elementary or Child Development Education AND a minimum of 480 hours teaching experience in a child care setting serving children ages birth through eight years. Must also have one year of supervisory experience.

In addition to the above, the following are also required:

Must possess a valid Florida driver's license

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and ability to learn and use Galileo/Child Plus
 
Preferences
   Florida Director's Credential.

Head Start classroom teaching/working experience.
