HEAD START FIELD OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   This position is a supervisory position that ensures high-quality comprehensive services to children and their families, by supervising the Head Start Center managers and monitoring their performance. This position requires knowledge of early childhood development, the Head Start Performance Standards, and current research on brain development and teaching techniques along with a basic knowledge of supervisory responsibilities.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Supervises Head Start Center Managers & evaluates their performance.
  • Develops and plans activities for the Head Start Center Managers.
  • Assures the quality of services provided by Head Start Center Managers through observation of performance, evaluation of child outcomes, monitoring of records, and inspection of facilities, classroom equipment and classroom materials.
  • Coordinates services with other manager of programs within the division.
  • Assures that appropriate staff training and development activities are provided for Head Start Center Managers.
  • Assures that Head Start Center manager provide accurate and timely (monthly) feedback on teaching staff and practices, in addition to formal performance appraisals.
  • Prepares and submits reports as required by Head Start Performance Standards including analysis of child outcomes data, and documenting monitoring reports and resulting improvement plans.
  • Other related duties as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood development or related field and five years experience in early childhood development to include at least two years of supervisory experience.

Experience in working with a Head Start program and advanced knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards.
 
Preferences
   Experience coordinating training programs and planning professional development for early childhood educators.
