CASEWORKER AIDE

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Performs responsible clerical and casework duties while evaluating information presented through the request for services; complex clerical tasks and fiscal activities are done routinely. The purpose of this position is to form a team with professional social workers or other staff to assure the effective operation of an outreach office or other work sites. This position may provide services directly to clients.

Work is performed under the supervision of a Senior Social Worker or assigned supervisor and is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as typing, filing, handling mail outs, data entry, routine telephone calls, taking messages, and distributing mail.
  • Schedule and maintain outreach office client appointment schedule.
  • Identify and respond to problematic situations relative to clients, the facility, or scheduling process.
  • Obtain and maintain client information and records.
  • Conduct fiscal functions in outreach office.
  • Maintain filing system to ensure accurate client and departmental records.
  • Provide services directly to clients as required by the program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in clerical or social services field. One year of College education may be substituted for the working experience requirement.

Must be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in word processing functions, preferably Microsoft Word and email functions.

May be required to possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License and provide own vehicle for job related duties.
