General Functions |
|
This key position is responsible for providing conference and tradeshow support to Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) clients, including set-up, tear-down, and cleaning of meeting rooms and exhibit halls for events at the OCCC.
Work is performed under the general supervision of an Event Setup Supervisor. Performance is evaluated based on the guidance provided to team members, demonstrated mechanical skills, and achievement of desired results. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Performs a wide range of set-up and tear-down tasks in exhibit halls and meeting rooms under tight deadlines.
- Lifts, positions, and moves stacking chairs, folding tables, production stages, and related equipment.
- Interprets and carries out detailed specifications in written and diagram form.
- Makes changes to room setups as requested by show management.
- Replaces linens, provides water service, and performs trash removal as part of Refresh Meeting Rooms functions.
- Verifies "show readiness" of room sets for completeness, accuracy, cleanliness, and safety.
- Operates movable track wall partitions to configure meeting spaces.
- Installs and dismantles complex performance staging and risers.
- Interacts positively with clients, show management, attendees, seminar speakers, and the general public.
- Operates a variety of equipment, including box truck, forklift, industrial power jack/chair mover, and other equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience working in a convention center, hotel, arena, or similar facility performing event set-ups and tear-downs. An equivalent combination of relevant education or experience may be substituted.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License. |

Preferences |
|
Proficient in using Windows and Microsoft Office to obtain e-mails and other information.
Experience with operating a forklift, pallet jack, two-way radio, track wall panel system, and electric powered cart and/or car. |
