SUPERVISOR OF EVENT SET-UP

General Functions
   Responsible for selecting, training, assigning and supervising the event set-up staff of the Event Operations Division. This includes conducting performance appraisals, initiating disciplinary procedures and maintaining performance records. This position reports to the Event Operations Manager and performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Supervises full-time and on-call event set-up staff. Selects, trains, schedules, monitors work progress and provides technical, administrative and operational assistance and guidance.
  • Develops and maintains the Event Set-Up section procedure and training manuals.
  • Communicates client needs prior to and during events with Event Managers to ensure client inventory expectations and service levels are met.
  • Prepares and manages event set-up section budget, purchases necessary inventory, oversees services provided by vendors and arranges repairs/service on equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining levels of consumable and non-consumable inventory required to meet client needs. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual inventory audits to include movement of inventory, physical counts and reports.
  • Assists clients regarding technical capabilities and production equipment estimates for their events. Communicates technical specifications necessary for individual events to set up staff. Responds to client and/or contractor questions. Attends client planning meetings to provide technical support for future events.
  • Conducts and participates in divisional and departmental meetings to improve levels of client service.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facility Management, Hospitality Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of event services experience in a lead capacity in a convention center, arena, event facility or convention hotel property; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.
