ASSISTANT MANAGER, EVENT OPERATIONS

General Functions
   This position is responsible for assisting in the management of the Division and day to day functions. The role is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Event Utilities and Event Rigging sections at the OCCC. The role represents the Center in client related activities and ensures that events are developed and executed successfully.

Work is performed with considerable independence under the general guidance of the Division Manager. Work is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
    Duties may vary based on area of assignment.
  • Assists in formulating policies, goals and objectives for long and short term division planning and ensures that staff members follow same.
  • Assists in strategic planning, budget preparation and policy development for Event Utilities and Event Rigging.
  • Coordinates major events and facility related activities with other divisions, outside agencies, clients and exhibitors to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Works with the client's need and manages operations to meet customer's expectations.
  • Directs and oversees activities of staff in an assigned area of responsibility. Performs such supervisory duties as instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others.
  • Manages division in absence of the Manager.
  • Oversees the operation, maintenance and evaluation of building systems infrastructure including event rigging and utilities.
  • Responsible for human resources related issues to include but not limited to hiring, training and development, performance appraisals and employee relations.
  • Supports the division's mission of outstanding client service by attending site visits, pre-convention meetings and other client meetings. Ensuring all state and regulatory standards are meet.
  • Performs other related duties and completes special projects as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Hospitality or Business Administration or a related field plus five years of experience in hospitality industry; or closely related experience to include two years of supervisory experience.

   Expert in CRM software and CADD
