ASSISTANT RIGGING SUPERVISOR

General Functions
   The Assistant Rigging Supervisor is responsible for assisting the section Supervisor in communicating and preparing daily information and performing the day to day activities of the rigging section to include oversight of scheduling labor, managing show inventory, and interpreting diagrams, drawings, or blue prints to make sure all rigging safety protocols are followed. The assistant also oversees the recruiting, hiring, and training of all Part-Time and On-Call staff.

Work is performed with independence under the direction of the Technical Operations Supervisor and is reviewed on a regular basis through observations, conferences, reports and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Recruits, select, and train staff on all departmental procedures, safety practices, and billing.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to the Rigging section of the Operations Division at the OCCC.
  • Oversees the Rigging Coordinator staff to include technical support, billing and scheduling coordinators and operational assistance.
  • Assists in strategic planning, budget preparation, payroll and developing policies and procedures for Rigging.
  • Serves as a liaison with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, clients, exhibitors, vendors, service contractors and Fire Rescue on event related information.
  • Evaluates and recommend approvals for On-Call staff to transition into the next classification of rigging.
  • Prepares and administers performance evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Construction, Business Administration or other closely related field and five (5) year's experience in convention center or arena environment, hospitality industry, facility or event operations to include two (2) years experience in a lead capacity; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
 
Preferences
   ETCP (Entertainment Technician Certification Program) certified in arena rigging.
