VIDEO SURVEILLANCE COORDINATOR

General Functions
  

The Video Surveillance Coordinator is an integral part of a team, playing a key role in the operation and monitoring of the Security Division's fire alarm and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system for the Convention Center.

Work is performed under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations and results achieved.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Operates radio and facilitates electronic communications
  • Receive and evaluate calls from internal divisions and external agencies requesting assistance from both emergency and/or non-emergency incidents, obtain relevant information related to the situation and initiate appropriate actions to resolve the request
  • Adhere to established rules, regulations, policies and procedures as outlined in the Security SOP, IMAGE Manual and Orange County Policy & Procedures Manual
  • Operates remote Closed Caption Television (CCTV) and fire alarm systems
  • Acknowledges fire alarms, notify Life Safety, Security and Facility Maintenance staff point(s) of contact and provide direction to alarm point(s). Coordinates with on scene Security personnel to address and resolve incident at hand.
  • Notifies emergency agencies (Orange County Sheriff's Office and/or Orange County Fire Rescue) regarding current emergencies and ensures they are provided with pertinent information to accomplish their assigned tasks, as needed.
  • Coordinate the communication of pertinent information with other law enforcement agencies e.g., Secret Service, FBI, as applicable
  • Monitor cameras of affected area(s) upon notification of any incident or impending emergency response. Upon arrival of emergency vehicles, continue to monitor affected area and perimeter cameras until conclusion of incident.
  • Responsible for messaging on the Mass Notification
  • Remains on the phone during emergencies to collect additional information (e.g., bomb threats or medicals).
  • Maintains paper and video logs according to Security Division departmental
  • In conjunction with the Squad Supervisor, determine if it is necessary to transfer any recorded incident to Digital Video Disc (DVD).
  • Operate the Security Divisions Electronic Card Access Control System to ensure entry access of authorized personnel into the Command Center or other locations as deemed
  • Conduct an inventory/inspection of all cameras and equipment, ensuring equipment is operable and annotate the inspection in Information Management System (IMS). A Service Request via Maximo System will be completed for all deficiencies, documented in IMS, and reported to Information Systems Services (ISS). Notes entered in IMS will include the ISS tracking number for each
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years of experience in a multi-task environment communicating directly with the general public using a radio or telephone and one year of supervisory experience.

Maybe required to possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License.

Possession of a Florida Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification within 18 months of hire.
