EVENT STAFFING SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

General Functions
  

A security position in the Convention Center working with Event Staffing Service Provider(s) to plan event-staffing needs. Investigates all accidents, injuries and damage to OCCC facilities and provides follow-up on the billing and collection of payment for damages to OCCC property.

Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Security Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through conferences, reports and results achieved.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Reviews and approves staffing and security proposals issued by the provider 30 days prior to the first move-in day.
  • Recommends changes to the providers proposal to comply with the Convention Centers operating policies and guidelines.
  • Attends client site visits, planning and pre and post-convention meetings.
  • Performs pre- and post-show walk-throughs utilizing photos and video to identify OCCC property damage.
  • Responds to complaints concerning damage caused to exhibitors by OCCC staff.
  • Responds to client and/or provider questions and provides assistance regarding security and life safety issues.
  • Responds to accident / damage locations and takes immediate action to limit damage and liability and identifies sources of collection for damage.
  • Facilitates the billing and collections of money due to OCCC due to damage of the buildings.
  • Interacts with all divisions within the Convention Center as needed, with an emphasis on a strong relationship with the Event Management Team.
  • Coordinates with outside agencies including Orange County Sheriffs Office, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, corporate protection teams, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Treasury Department, State Department and the Secret Service in order to ensure the safety of international, national and corporate dignitaries and officials.
  • Develops and coordinates policies and procedures for operating departments to assist in loss reduction.
  • Reviews safety committee effectiveness.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Associates degree or two years experience in convention services, security, safety, to include or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and possess a Florida Drivers License within thirty days of hire.

 
Preferences
   One year of supervisory experience
