BUSINESS SERVICES SUPERVISOR

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   Responsible for supervising all functions of Exhibit Services day-to-day operations including Exhibit Services, on-line ordering of event utilities and technical services. Supervising staff and training for baggage services, toll booths, parking, ticket sales and referral of all service providers for booth catering, audio visual, internet services, Universal Orlando, business center, etc. Supervises full-time and on-call staff.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Responsible for overall staffing, supervision and performance of Exhibit Services staff.
  • Develops and maintains effective and efficient staff through proper selection, training, and assignment of personnel.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, initiates disciplinary procedures and recommends promotions and increases.
  • Supervises and coaches Assistant Supervisors.
  • Maintains an active and positive relationship with internal and external partners.
  • Analyzes, reviews, and revises Exhibit Services policies, regulations and practices as needed.
  • Monitors and implements performance measurements for the Assistant Supervisors.
  • Assists the Exhibit Services Director in the development and implementation of goals, strategies and objectives – long range and short term planning.
  • Recommends and prepares the section budget.
  • Responsible for supervising and staffing Parking.
  • Responsible for accurate records of Exhibit Services schedules, overtime, leave, vacations and shift changes.
  • Prepares statistical reports as requested.
  • Works closely with the Exhibit Services Director implementing new procedures, services and programs periodically.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business administration or finance or a related field and four years experience with a convention center or convention services; or an equivalent combination of education training or experience.

Must be able to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
 
Preferences
   Experience in the hospitality industry with related exhibitor services experience.
