SECURITY REPRESENTATIVE

General Functions
  

This key position performs security and safety duties for the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). Work involves the protection of life and property, and controlling and monitoring vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Convention Center roadways, freight docks, service roads, and temporary staging areas.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Security Supervisor and is reviewed through meetings, conferences, reports, and results achieved.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Follows established security and life safety procedures of the Orange County Convention Center and the general and special instructions of the immediate or higher-level supervisor.
  • Completes shift assignments, security logs, inspections, and emergency response documentation.
  • Inspects and patrols the facility and initiates emergency procedures as required.
  • Responds to medical emergencies and completes related incident reports, including gathering evidence and photographs.
  • Provides information to the public and ensures crowd control and safety per guidelines.
  • Enforces parking and traffic regulations on OCCC property.
  • Performs control room functions including monitoring and operating fire/security alarms, paging, control closed-circuit television (CCTV), and radio systems.
  • Interacts positively with clients, show management, attendees, and the general public.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

High school diploma or equivalent.  

Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.

 
Preferences
  

One (1) year of experience in security, traffic management, or law enforcement in a corporate or public environment.

Must be able to respond to written and oral instructions.
