SUPERVISOR OF EVENT MANAGEMENT & EXHIBITOR SCVS

General Functions
   Responsible for selecting, training, assigning and supervising the event management and exhibitor services staff, of the Sales & Event Management Division, to include conducting performance appraisals, initiating disciplinary procedures and maintaining performance records. This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Events and performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Supervises event management and exhibitor services staff, including but not limited to selection, training, scheduling, monitoring independent work progress and providing technical, administrative and operational assistance and guidance.
  • Communicates with clients, in advance and on-site to ensure anticipated service levels are being met.
  • Conducts or participates in departmental meetings to improve client service levels.
  • Increase awareness of the OCCC services to show management and exhibiting companies through personal sales calls, targeting top 20 exhibitors, and overseeing telemarketing efforts.
  • Increase customer satisfaction by building client’s knowledge of the vast service options available at the OCCC.
  • Involvement in establishing options and services made available to clients.
  • Coordinate and implement the Exhibitor Advisory Board.
  • Implement and maintain exhibitor web site and on-line ordering process.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree in Business, Facility Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field. Four years of experience in a convention center, hotel property, convention service(s), or hospitality service and two years management or supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience.
