SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

General Functions
   Performs sales related work in support of marketing program for the Orange County Convention Center. This is a responsible professional sales and marketing position with extensive public and professional contact. Assists the sales manager in conducting day-to-day activities of the Marketing Department to include initial client contact and account follow-up, pre-contract preparation and scheduling.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Performs sales-related functions in support of the marketing plan which includes: the solicitation of clients and conducting follow-up actions to develop booking dates; quoting rates and initiating formal agreements; and handling pre-event correspondence and meetings.
  • Assists in developing the basic sales plan to include advertising, special incentives and client search.
  • Researches and provides accurate account information to all departments in the Convention Center from lease agreement information to account details on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • Performs liaison with public and private agencies supporting the Convention Center.
  • Takes an active part in all facets of the industry.
  • Acts as Lead Supervisor to Account Executives, providing guidance and problem solving on the handling of their respective accounts.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Marketing, or other closely related field and four years of sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Must have the ability to travel or work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekend and holidays.
 
Preferences
   Experience in marketing and sales in a convention center, convention bureau, convention hotel or the hospitality industry.
