ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE SUPERVISOR

General Functions
   The Account Executive Supervisor will manage the sales and marketing plans by recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the Convention Center is competitively positioned within the industry.

This position will be responsible for working closely with the Sales Director and the Executive Management Team to maintain existing business and generate new business. This role involves extensive public and professional relationship management.

Work is performed with independence under general supervision of the Sales and Events Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Manages the OCCC sales and marketing plan to ensure they accurately interpret and support the objectives of the business and use these plans to focus the sales efforts for all market segments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to target new business.
  • Supervise Account Executives and Sr. Account Executives; monitors performance including daily sales activities, meetings, sales reports and coaches presentation skills.
  • Works closely with the Sales Director to identify and drive sales during need periods.
  • Assists Account Executives in developing a yield management program in order to maximize event days. Monitors and reviews all event bookings to assure accuracy of guidelines, dates, space and rates.
  • Actively involved in leadership and committee roles with industry member organizations.
  • Analyzes daily, weekly, monthly and annual business reports, provides updates to management.
  • Assists in strategic planning and in the budget process.
  • Maintains on ongoing relationship with industry partners, making recommendations for policies and procedures affecting revenue and contract issues.
  • Participates in industry tradeshows, sales calls and promotional client events.
  • Generate and analyzes daily business reports in order to provide a monthly update of sales activity to executive management team.
  • Solicits national convention/trade show market placing groups to maximize space and generate resort tax dollars for the Orange County Convention Center.
  • Meets Center of Hospitality (COH) Standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Public Relations, Financial Management, Business or Public Administration, or closely related field and six years of experience in a sales position with a hotel, convention bureau, convention service provider, convention center or attractions; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience; to include 2 years of supervisory experience.

Experience in marketing and sales in a convention center, convention bureau, convention hotel or the hospitality industry.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and the use of CRM software.

Must have the ability to travel or work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
 
Preferences
   Working knowledge of revenue management
