TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR

General Functions
   Provides administrative oversight of strategic planning initiatives and supervision of onsite/offsite transportation functions. Effectively markets and communication of these initiatives to clients/stakeholders. Provides coordination, on behalf of the Orange County Convention Center, with external strategic initiatives relative to mobility and OCCC supportive development within the Convention Center District.

Work is performed with independence under the general direction of the Strategic Planning & Development Manager and performance is reviewed evaluated through conferences, observations, reports and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Provides administrative oversight of all transportation-related functions at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), including efficient management of event traffic and other ground transportation modes.
  • Supports the Manager in all aspects of ongoing Campus Master Planning efforts and future implementation, including contract administration, project management, stakeholder engagement, presentations, etc.
  • Provides administrative oversight of the Management Services Contract for Taxi Operations and of OCCC Pedicab Permitting to ensure compliance with contracts and policies/procedures.
  • Coordinates current and future transportation planning initiatives with internal and external stakeholders/agencies, including Orange County Public Works Department, Florida Department of Transportation, Florida's Turnpike Enterprise, Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority, LYNX, I-Drive Master Transit and Improvement District, and others as necessary.
  • Supervises transportation personnel with responsibility for efficient operation of ground transportation modes at OCCC.
  • Serves as an advocate with external stakeholders/agencies for OCCC related needs within the Convention Center District.
  • Assists in preparing and managing the annual operating budget for the OCCC transportation section.
  • Develops plans, operating schedules, and funding strategy for onsite and/or off-site shuttles and/or circulators supporting OCCC, and provides management and oversight of operations.
  • Prepares presentations and reports for senior management and clients regarding transportation plans, operations, and other key strategic initiatives.
  • Represents the Manager as necessary in internal and external meetings, boards, committees, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field and four years of experience in planning, transportation planning, traffic or public transportation or closely related field; or a Master’s degree in specified field of study and two years specified experience.
 
Preferences
   Development of event traffic management plans for large public events
