General Functions |
|
This key position is a multi-trades position that performs semi-skilled or skilled work in the installation of temporary or permanent electrical and plumbing services; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) repair and maintenance; and/or general building repair and maintenance. Interacts on a regular basis with contractors, trades personnel, exhibitors and/or internal staff to ensure the highest level of service and work quality.
Work is performed with some independence under the general supervision of the Technical Operations Supervisor or other designated supervisor. Performance is evaluated based on the guidance provided to team members, demonstrated mechanical skills, and achievement of desired results. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Performs work in a variety of skilled trades, including:
- Electrical Systems
- Plumbing and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration)
- Carpentry and Masonry
- Surface Finishes (Painting, Carpet and Tile Laying)
- Locksmithing and Machining
- Mechanical Systems (Mechanics, Generator & Power Generation Equipment)
- Structural Repairs (Roofing, Sheetrock/Drywall, Doors, Air Walls and Partitions)
- Technical Systems (Lighting, Sound and Audiovisual, Electronic Fire Alarms, Fire Sprinkler Maintenance and Repair)
- Exterior Maintenance (Roads and Sidewalks – Asphalt and Concrete, Irrigation and Landscaping)
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Convention Center - Facility Operations (Buildings and Grounds Maintenance)
- Operates hydraulic equipment including a variety of lifts and computerized maintenance system.
- Performs general repairs and preventative maintenance to motors, valves, and gauges.
- Replaces filters and belts.
- Cleans equipment and space.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in skilled trades, event operations, facility operations, or other technical services. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Depending on the area of assignment, must possess and maintain valid licenses and/or certifications:
- Florida Driver’s License
- Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) Rigging Certification
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certification
- Backflow Prevention License
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant License
- Journeyman/Master Plumber License
- Journeyman/Master Electrician License
