General Functions |
|
This key position works with the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) Event Management, Show Management and Event Security Provider (ESP) to ensure safety and security protocols are in place for all events. This position is responsible for receiving, appraising and maintaining the required event security plans from each ESP via the Show Organizer and administering the campuswide Dock Access Program. Serves as a lead for the Event Security Liaisons (ESL).
Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Security Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through conferences, reports and results achieved.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Coordinates assigned events and liaisons with Show Management, ESP and Event Management regarding event security planning, facility requirements and industry best practices.
- Oversees the preparation and distribution of security planning materials. Establishes quality control measures to ensure security plans are submitted correctly and placed in the Event Business Management Software (EBMS).
- Responsible for providing technical guidance to ESL. Assists with training and mentoring ESL.
- Establishes a tracking system for the timely receipt of Event Physical Security Plans from Show Organizers as required in the Event Planning Guide.
- Coordinates with outside agencies including Orange County Sheriff's Office, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, corporate protection teams, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Treasury Department, State Department and the Secret Service in order to ensure the safety of international, national and corporate dignitaries and officials.
- Develops and coordinates policies and procedures for operating departments to assist in loss reduction. Assists with event risk assessments.
- Ensures that staffing needs for exclusive services (EMS, K9, etc.) have been provided to appropriate entity for scheduling purposes.
- Maintains oversight of the Dock Access Program. Ensures compliance of dock pass requests, issuances and tracking.
- Manages events in progress to ensure compliance with OCCC policy and public safety codes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or four (4) years of experience in convention services, security or safety; in lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License within thirty (30) days of hire. |

Preferences |
|
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Experience in customer service, administrative, and/or investigation of damage claims. |
