SENIOR FLEET MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Responsible for purchasing, stocking and distributing parts used in maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment for the Fire Rescue Fleet Management department. Responsible for sourcing parts and storing and accounting for storeroom items and maintaining a variety of logs and records.

Work is performed under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor. Work is reviewed in progress and upon completion.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Creates purchase order requisition to be processed through completed transactions.
  • Collects bids and makes purchases utilizing the County issued Purchasing Card.
  • Researches technical information concerning parts and supplies.
  • Prepares and maintains an inventory system for all supplies, equipment and furniture.
  • Orders parts, materials and supplies used in maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • Verifies receipt of invoiced parts, materials and supplies.
  • Processes invoices for payment including.
  • Maintains and tracts inventory records on computer to ensure all parts and supply transactions are properly documented.
  • Unloads, stores, transports, delivers and distributes parts, materials and supplies.
  • Interacts with customers, vendors, and sales representatives. Follows up on items not received and checks on item prices and availability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   High School graduate or equivalent and two years experience in automotive/equipment parts or supply clerk/purchasing/inventory or other related experience.

May be required to possess and maintain the appropriate valid Florida Commercial Driver License for the type of equipment operated.

Forklift Certification required within six (6) months of employment.
