WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   This position is specialized, detailed orientated supervisory work in stockroom, supply, inventory and may include mail operations. Responsible for ordering, monitoring expenditures, storing and issuing maintenance, electrical, plumbing, construction, janitorial, and specialized equipment. Responsible for the requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing, and recording all materials utilized.

Work is performed under the general direction of assigned supervisor and review for conformity with departmental policy, efficient operations and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Develops, implements and evaluates methods and procedures for the storage and issuance of parts, supplies, materials and equipment stock items.
  • Assists with service contracts and supply contracts. Identifies potential term contracts for supplies based on the receipt of goods and ensures supplies received via contracts/purchase orders are in compliance with contract/purchase order specifications.
  • Ensures receiving documents are properly completed and routed within established time frames for prompt payment.
  • Serves as a contact with vendors for researching and resolving problems related to receiving of supplies and expediting procurement of goods.
  • Identifies appropriate solutions and products within financial and budget limitations.
  • Develops and implements measures to protect stock items form loss, damage or deterioration.
  • Responsible for records management. Ensures receiving documentation and follow-up are completed properly, including credit card orders.
  • Provides supervision for the proper disposal of hazardous waste materials, including storage, documentation and shipping.
  • Performs related work as required.


  • Convention Center

  • Supervise and manages mail room procedures, postal accounts, and incoming/outgoing mail/packages, including reconciling show related freight, to ensure compliance with USPS, County Administrative Regulations and Convention Center Policies and Procedures.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   High School graduate or equivalent and four years of experience in supply, inventory, warehouse operations, managing building or construction parts, materials, or equipment; or closely related field.
 
Preferences
   Experience in ordering/receiving good via contracts

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Advantage

Convention Center

Mailroom experience, including documentation of receiving, distribution of packages and the operation of mail equipment.
