CADD TECHNICIAN

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Performs technical work using computerized drafting and drawing systems. Work is performed with some independence under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor. Performance is evaluated based on accuracy, technical knowledge demonstrated, and achievement of desired results in completing design and drafting applications.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Prepares preliminary and final design and drafting of engineering design and construction projects.
  • Automates design specifications, drawings and diagrams related to field surveys, construction work, field data collection, engineering computations.
  • Prepares civil engineering, architectural, mapping and testing plans and schematic designs.
  • Creates computerized drawing files, plots and reproduces in various types of media.
  • Uses computer plotters and symbol sets in the drafting process; draws line types, arcs, curves and texts on drawings.
  • Applies basic knowledge of algebra, trigonometry and geometry in performing basic engineering and survey computations.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of design and drafting experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education or training.

Based on area of assignment may be required to possess a Driver's License and possess and maintain a Florida Driver's License within three months of hire.
