ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS ADMINISTRATOR

General Functions
   This is a responsible administrative and managerial position. An employee in this position supervises two or more Environmental Programs or Teams and is responsible for developing the performance goals of specific program(s), teams, and/or grant contracts. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Division Manager. The incumbent must be able to exercise independent judgment in the oversight and supervision of these responsibilities.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Monitors, analyzes and facilitates all facets of operations and activities related to the Environmental Programs or Teams supervised.
  • Represents the Division while interacting with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, public action groups, and County administration.
  • May serve as Division Manager in the absence of the Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Ensures the highest level of service is provided to the County and its citizens. Responds to and resolves internal and external concerns / complaints.
  • Directs and participates in studies, surveys and specialized research for environmental matters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, environmental law or natural sciences or a related field, and seven years of environmental protection experience, to include three years in a supervisory role. A Master's degree may be substituted for two years of related experience.

Experience in public speaking/negotiating/mediating.
