HOUSING QUALITY STANDARDS SPEC

General Functions
   Responsible for evaluating housing units for compliance with Housing Quality Standards.

An employee in this classification of work is responsible for scheduling appointments and evaluating housing units to determine whether the units are acceptable for occupancy in accordance with Housing Quality Standards. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Section 8 Coordinator.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Evaluates housing units according to Section 8 existing Housing Inspection Manual.
  • Inspects permanent fixtures of dwelling units for compliance with Housing Quality Standards.
  • Inspects for general health and safety hazards of dwelling units.
  • Issues both verbal and written requests to correct violations, together with subsequent review of violations to insure corrective action has been taken.
  • Prepares required reports, keeps records of all inspections, and conducts rent comparability studies of Orlando rental market.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of industry related experience or a Bachelor’s degree and one year of industry related experience.

Must possess a valid Florida Drivers license and provide own transportation.
