RESEARCH COORDINATOR

General Functions
   Performs technical work involving complaints regarding discrimination in employment.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Corresponds with the EEO Commission, the Florida Commission of Human Relations and the affected Department/Division with regard to all phases of discrimination complaints and investigations.
  • Disseminates EEO Commission and Florida Commission on Human Relations discrimination charges and requests for information to the affected Department/Division for compliance.
  • Reviews Department/Division responses to EEO Commission and Florida Commission on Human Relations discrimination charges and requests for information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Summarizes major points of Department/Division responses to discrimination charges for submission to the EEO Commission and Florida Commission on Human Relations.
  • Stays informed of current developments with regard to Title VII issues, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the American’s with Disabilities Act through documentation received and applicable training seminars.
  • Compiles and maintains data used for various reports. Acts as the Division Technology Administrator in the implementation of new technology.
  • Assists the OPS investigator in setting up Fact Finding Conferences in determining conclusions on internal complaints.
  • Testifies in hearings and courtrooms on matters related to EEO issues.
  • Creates and conducts presentations on EEO matters.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years experience in conducting research, analysis and report writing; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Pubic Administration, Political Science, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or other closely related field may be substituted for the experience requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Must be able to demonstrate excellent writing and presentation skills.
 
Preferences
   Experience in dealing with EEO or Employee Relations issues.
