PUBLIC SAFETY ANALYST

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   The Public Safety Analyst’s role is to provide technical support to the Assistant to the Public Safety Director. Responsibilities include providing research, responding to citizen complaints and being responsible for administrative issues such as preparation and monitoring of the budget.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Research public safety issues and make written and verbal recommendations.
  • Verbal and written communication with citizens responding to letters and verbal messages for County Chairman regarding public safety issues.
  • Provide research and analysis in support of requests from Corrections Department, Fire and Rescue Department, and the Drug Free Community Coordinator.
  • Conduct process improvement or efficiency studies.
  • Perform/complete other duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Criminal Justice or related degree and three years of experience in a local government, professional office or law enforcement environment. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and financial and budgeting skills along with a proficiency in MicroSoft Office software.
 
Preferences
   Experience in a law enforcement, fire and rescue or court system environment.
