DISTRIBUTION FACILITY SUPERVISOR

General Functions
  

Responsible for overseeing a large distribution center. Performs specialized work in the ordering, receipt keeping, storing and issuing of equipment and supplies for operation and maintenance of a county facility. This position will also serve as a backup for the Administrative Supervisor in their absence.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Administrative Supervisor who reviews work through conferences, reports, and results achieved.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Responsible for the procedures purchasing, stocking, and distribution of supplies for two stockrooms (West Building and South Building) and the Remote Building. Responsible for the barcoded inventory in the Warehouse sections and Facility operations section.
  • Responsible for the contract utilization for the temporary painting labor and hazardous waste.
  • Develop and implement procedures, and supervises receiving and distribution of all items at the Remote Building (to include purchase orders/delivery orders/ and credit card orders) for all divisions at OCCC
  • Supervise and manage mail room procedures, postal accounts, and incoming/outgoing mail/packages (including reconciling show-related freight) to ensure compliance with mail & OCCC regulation
  • Responsible for the distribution of donated goods to the appropriate charities
  • Ensures EBMS requisitions are properly documented regarding supplies, following through with procurement coordinators to ensure proper documentation is provided for issuance of purchase/delivery orders and receivers.
  • Ensure receiving documents are properly done and routed within time frames for prompt payment.
  • Train all personnel (full-time and prime-time) in the operations of the Remote Building, Mailroom, West Stockroom, and South Stockroom. Responsible for the interviewing and hiring of prime-time personnel.
  • Serves as the main contact with vendors for the purchase of supplies, expediting procurements of goods; researching and resolving problems related to receiving by communicating effectively with OCCC divisions/vendors. Assists Facility Operations Administration Supervisor with service contracts and supply contracts.
  • Devises and implements measures to protect stock items from loss, damage, or deterioration, Responsible for records management for the Remote Building
  • Performs other duties as required
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related field and four (4) years of purchasing materials management or warehouse management experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience.

Must possess and maintain FL Driver's license.

May require forklift/pallet jack certification after employment.

 
Preferences
  

1 year of mailroom experience, including documentation of receiving/distribution of packages; and operation of mail equipment; computerized warehouse system

1 year of government purchasing experience
