Provides psychological services and administrative direction to staff delivering these services in the Corrections Department.
This is responsible administrative and professional work. Duties include department mental health services planning, psychological assessment and treatment, and supervision of clerical, professional, and supervisory staff. Responsibility requires oversite of daily operations for all department psychological services.
Performance of assigned duties may involve personal danger in working with persons accused or convicted of criminal activity. An individual assigned to this classification is responsible for conducting Baker Act evaluations and certifications of offender.
General supervision is received from the Assistant Manager and the Manager of the Court Alternative Division, who evaluates performance through observation, conferences and reports for achievement of desired results.

- Assists Correction Department with programs and services planning.
- Provides functional supervision to assigned supervisors, professional and clerical staff.
- Provides direct psychological services to juvenile or adult offenders.
- May conduct and coordinate research for delivery of services, program operations or improvement of client services.
- Provides clinical supervision, consultation or training to Department.
- May testify or serve as an expert witness in judicial proceedings.
- Serves as a liaison with criminal justice system and the community at large.

| Minimum Qualifications |

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology and three years experience in providing direct services to clients in mental health or a directly related field.
Prefer supervisory experience.
Must possess a Florida psychologist license or be eligible for license.
