SENIOR PARKS SPECIALIST

General Functions
  

This key position leads employees and performs skilled and technical work in park operations and maintenance. Responsibilities include ensuring safety standards, conducting inspections, maintaining records, preparing reports, and assisting in park development implementation.

Work is performed under general supervision of a Site Supervisor and evaluated based on accuracy, efficiency, and result achievement.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Plans, organizes, and leads the daily operations of Park Specialists by assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring efficient and safe execution of park functions.
  • Coordinates maintenance of grounds and amenities with Site Supervisor.
  • Maintains irrigation systems; performs landscaping, grounds, and building maintenance.
  • Operates and maintains specialized equipment.
  • Provides public service and park information to visitors.
  • Assists park patrons and performs administrative tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in park operations, grounds or building maintenance, or janitorial services. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
