General Functions |
|
This key position performs semi-skilled duties in the maintenance and repair of park facilities and provides services to park users and patrons. Ensures that all work adheres to standardized policies, rules, and regulations, supporting the operational standards of public parks.
Work is performed under general supervision and evaluated based on accuracy, efficiency, and result achievement.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Performs landscaping and grounds maintenance such as maintaining grass, fields, and trails across multiple parks.
- Conducts basic construction and repair tasks for park maintenance.
- Manages minor installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Enforces park usage rules and ordinances on Orange County public properties.
- Interacts daily with citizens of all ages and abilities, including youth and elderly.
- Maintains park cleanliness and removes trash.
- Operates light vehicles and equipment; performs preventative maintenance.
- Consults with trades employees or supervisors on specific maintenance issues.
- Assists park patrons and provides customer service.
- Completes administrative duties as necessary.
- Recommends improvements for park maintenance and visitor experience.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
High school diploma or equivalent. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License. |
|
Preferences |
|
One (1) year of experience in any of the following: grounds maintenance, building maintenance/repair, janitorial/custodial, construction, mechanical or electrical trades, and/or other service industry work.
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. |
