911 SYSTEM SUPPORT ANALYST

General Functions
   Provides professional and technical work supporting and managing the County-wide 911 infrastructure and systems. Responsible for strategic Information Systems planning and project management for current and future 911 information system projects.

Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the 911 Coordinator. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Designs and develops infrastructure configurations to comply with federal, state and local laws and guidelines.
  • Monitors infrastructure to ensure system integrity and security. Manages multiple local area networks and one wide area network, geographic information systems, maintenance management systems and interfaces to customer information systems.
  • Performs project management functions on 911 IT related projects, system changes and updates. Supervises the installation, maintenance and upgrades of 911 infrastructure and systems County-wide.
  • Utilizes Change Management process for 911 system projects.
  • Provides technological support and training to customers.
  • Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors, and local exchange carriers to facilitate preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Provides technical support troubleshooting 911 addressing discrepancies.
  • Assists in the procurement of equipment and RFP process.
  • Maintains current technology expertise.
  • Provides, creates, and maintains detailed system reports. Performs workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Performs responsible project lead and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or closely related degree and three years of recent progressively responsible programming experience or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.
 
Preferences
   911 technical support experience

Good working knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL and Arc GIS.

Emergency Number Professional (ENP) Certification from the National Emergency Number Association.
