911 MASTER STREET ADDRESS GUIDE (MSAG) COORDINATOR

General Functions
   The 911 MSAG Coordinator provides coordination between the 911 database provider, zoning, real estate, private sector developers and engineers, GIS, property appraiser's office, Orange County citizens, and primary telephone service providers, to maintain the Orange County database of all street address ranges, telephone numbers and cellular tower sites that may be utilizing the 911 system.

Work is performed using independent judgment under the general supervision of the GIS Analyst and is reviewed through weekly reports, conferences and desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Reviews plats and engineering plans to ensure that all 911 street base name guidelines are followed.
  • Receives inquiries from each communication center and investigates improper call routing.
  • Updates and maintains the 911 Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) database. Verifies all addresses and ranges for new residences and/or businesses.
  • Reports problems, formulates work requests and tracks their progress.
  • Receives calls from citizens unable to get telephone numbers due to improper addressing and resolves their situation.
  • Works with engineers and developers to ensure that all 911 street base name guidelines are followed and properly entered into the database.
  • Coordinates with wireless providers to ensure proper addressing, call routing, and testing of all tower sites located within Orange County.
  • Travel to communication centers to review site layout for public safety responders
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Associate's Degree and four years of experience in database maintenance to include two (2) years of experience in reading and interpreting a wide variety of maps, aerial photography, plats, technical data input and analysis or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
 
Preferences
  
  • Minimum two (2) years MSAG experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years Public Safety Telecommunicator experience
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with applying GIS technology to help understand and resolve business process issues.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software, in particular, database management.
