TRAINING CENTER COORDINATOR

General Functions
   This position is responsible for coordination and oversight of all American Heart Association (AHA) training courses delivered within the Orange County Emergency Medical System (EMS), overseeing the Orange County automated external defibrillator (AED) registry, organizing all county-sponsored community Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and public access to defibrillation events, supervising the training of all County program employees.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the EMS Medical Director and is evaluated on based on accuracy, efficiency and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Provides oversight of the American Heart Association (AHA) program courses and certifications for the Orange County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) System and participating Orange County programs.
  • Oversees all aspects of the courses to ensure strict standards are met for the quality of education, instructors, materials and classrooms.
  • Monitors the status and qualifications of Training Site Coordinators and instructors over multiple training sites.
  • Reviews and implements AHA administrative policies and procedures and addresses any issues involving course content and curriculum. Maintains database of courses, oversees the training of instructors, and consistently audits courses for quality assurance.
  • Arranges and conducts community cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) courses in accordance with Orange County EMS strategic goals.
  • Maintains the Orange County Automated External Defibrillator registry (AED) Registry.
  • Develops, maintains and promotes the Orange County public access to defibrillation plan in accordance with strategic goals.
  • Provides no-cost CPR training to County Departments and Divisions as requested.
  • Maintains County workforce CPR/AED training records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution a health related field and two years emergency medical services, medical education or closely related experience; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.

Must possess and maintain American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor certification.

Communicates effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
 
Preferences
   Possess and maintain a State of Florida Paramedic certification

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor certification
