FORENSIC SR. PROGRAM MANAGER

General Functions
   This is a highly responsible professional administrative work providing management within the Divisions of the Health and Family Services Department, Health Services/Office of the Medical Examiner.

Work is performed under the direction of the Deputy Department Director and the Chief Medical Examiner. Work is reviewed through conferences, records, reports, and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Ensure the administrative and support functions of the office are in compliance with the Florida Medical Examiners Commission requirements and Florida State Statutes.
  • Supervise all support staff that work for the Medical Examiners.
  • Assists all support staff in work assignments when necessary.
  • Completes quality control measures and makes recommendations regarding improvements.
  • Trains office personnel on safety measures and office procedures.
  • Assists in mass fatality planning and implementation.
  • Maintains and monitors all financial and administrative operations.
  • Fosters working relationships with law enforcement, funeral homes, and various agencies in order to improve the office’s services to the community.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Business or Public Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Safety, Public Health or a closely related field and five years of experience in social, educational, or community services programs, medical setting or medical examiner’s office to include one year in a supervisory or management capacity.

Must be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in word processing functions, preferably Microsoft Word and email functions.
