PHARMACY DIRECTOR

General Functions
   The Pharmacy Director is responsible for all pharmaceutical services, policies and procedures and their administration at the Orange County Medical Clinic. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager, Health Services.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Responds appropriately to inquiries form the public concerning health related and socioeconomic issues. May direct inquiries to appropriate department.
  • Responsible for various personnel matters including hiring, discipline, training and development, performance appraisals and related activities.
  • Develop and administer pharmaceutical dispensing policies, methods and procedures. Develop and updated policy and procedure manual for all pharmaceutical activities for the Orange County Medical Clinic.
  • Monitor the purchasing and receipt of all pharmaceuticals and ongoing inventory for all pharmaceuticals received.
  • Consult with health care providers and patients regarding medication therapy, formulary and use of cost avoidance measures to improve patient care.
  • Coordinates all pharmacy activities within the County including Ryan White Title I Office, Office of Emergency and Disaster Management and Orange County Corrections Health Services.
  • Other duties of comparable level as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Florida Registered Pharmacist.

Florida Registered Consultant Pharmacist.

Three years of pharmacy experience to include oversight of medication regimes and knowledge of dosing for specific age populations.
 
Preferences
   Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
