DIETICIAN

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   Performs supervisory and nutritional planning functions coordinating nutritional services for the county's residential program(s).
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Calculates, writes, adapts and modifies diets and menus to meet individual client's needs.
  • Plans and implements a quality assurance program related to the nutritional care of clients.
  • Provides oversight and supervision of kitchen staff performing tasks in the preparation, production and services of meals to clients.
  • Maintains high standards of cleanliness and order in the kitchen and related areas.
  • Purchases food according to budget and program guidelines.
  • Maintains inventories of food and kitchen supplies, reports stockpiling and surplus inventories.
  • Inspects all incoming food supplies for quality and stores supplies properly.
  • Performs related work as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Associate's Degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Nutrition Hospitality management or closely related field and three years food services supervision experience in a medium to large institution, agency or company; or a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Nutrition Hospitality management or closely related field and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
 
Preferences
   State of Florida Registered Dietician License or be license eligible.
Experience in the preparation of nutritious and appetizing food for children.
Experience in the preparation of a variety of ethnic foods.
