EMERGENCY SUPPORT COORDINATOR

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Responsible for the operational condition, maintenance and status reports of emergency support equipment and vehicles countywide. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Repair and maintain and/or coordinate the repair and maintenance of emergency equipment and frontline vehicles on a 24-hour basis.
  • Maintain the daily status reports on all emergency equipment.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of assigned personnel and commercial contractors.
  • Coordinate and maintain communication with all emergency commercial contractors.
  • Maintain the appropriate skill level and technical knowledge to perform and assure proper repairs of the Division emergency support equipment.
  • Update and maintain Fleet Management maintenance/repair data base.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   High school graduation or equivalent and five years experience in the repair and maintenance of Emergency Support equipment and vehicles.

Must be available to work on call 24 hours a day.

Emergency Vehicle Technician or Automotive Service Excellence certified.

Knowledge of large load test equipment for generators, electronic test equipment, hand, electric and air tools.

Must possess adequate tools to perform assigned duties.
 
Preferences
   Experience coordinating work activity with management, supervisory and line employees, both union and non-union.
