BUSINESS PROCESS APPLICATION MANAGER

General Functions
  

Performs responsible technical and administrative work managing Business Management software and programs. Assures that software is utilized fully and enhanced functionality is incorporated in user experience. This position is responsible for accurate data collection, analysis and reporting and provides recommendations on policy and procedure to the Division Manager.

Work is performed under the general direction of the assigned Manager and is reviewed for compliance with department objectives and policies and for achievement of desired results.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Coordinates Division Enterprise activities in cooperation with the Information Systems and Services (ISS) Division.
  • Enters and maintains application system security and business hierarchies.
  • Assists in the review and preparation of requirement documents, correspondence, procedures, manuals, training plans, reports and briefings as needed.
  • Assists in creating workflows across the business process application to ensure consistency and compliance with County standards.
  • Assists in creating comprehensive test plans to ensure that adequate system and integration testing is performed. Coordinates work of the support team in functional testing of system requirements.
  • Assists in the recommendation and procurement of new application modules based on user requirements. Develops plans and strategies for tracking systems projects and upgrades.
  • Projects long range user requirements for functional design of facilities management and tracking systems. Recommends the procurement of new modules or systems based on new division business requirements.
  • Supervises support staff assigned to functional area and provides training on the use of the systems.
  • Creates, develops and deploys training courses and learning activities associated with the supported applications and business processes.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Fire Rescue - Operations

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining Fire Rescue learning management software used to document State mandated training.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining staff and shift scheduling software.

Fire Rescue - Planning

  • Responsible for providing administration for the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) databases as a backup to the CAD administrator.

Utilities

  • Responsible identifying and optimizing business processes within the division through the use of Maximo and other supported software platforms.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining integrity of division asset hierarchies, work order dates quality, inventory, forecasting and scheduling software.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in software management, facilities, assets, inventory, and/or work order related systems and processes. In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year experience.

 
Preferences
  

A degree in Computer Science, Project Management, Business Administration or a closely related field.

Experience with the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work order software.

Fire Rescue - Operations

Experience in learning Management System and/or Telestaff Staffing Program or college-level coursework in Instructional Design.

Experience with Crystal Reports software, able to organize, run queries and produce relevant building maintenance reports.

Fire Rescue - Planning

Experience with a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Experience with administration of an Oracle database.

Experience with work order management and inventory management databases.


Utilities
Experience working in a utilities environment with emphasis on treatment facilities.

Experience with Business Intelligence Reporting software, specifically utilized to track asset information, run queries and produce relevant asset maintenance reports.
