FACILITIES MANAGEMENT PROJECT COORDINATOR

General Functions
   The Facility Management Project Coordinator is an integral part of the management team, playing a key role in the completion maintenance projects in County facilities.

Responsible for coordinating, planning, inspecting, and the administration of projects involving maintenance, repair, remodeling, or life cycle replacement of equipment and space in County facilities. The projects may include work in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, storm water, grounds, etc. Work involves the coordination of work with vendors and occupants to complete projects on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to county operations.

Work is performed with some independence under the general supervision of the District Maintenance Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Oversees County-wide maintenance, minor-construction, and other construction related projects.
  • Coordinates required work the Maintenance District to minimize impact on building operations and customers.
  • Develops material, labor, and total cost estimates for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates assigned facilities projects from inception through completion.
  • Schedules and coordinates minor construction, maintenance, repair, and lifecycle renewal projects.
  • Creates project scopes and prepares purchasing documents.
  • Participates in all pre-bid conferences with prospective bidders for all assigned projects
  • Meets with contractors throughout the project process. Inspects and accepts or request changes to in progress or completed work.
  • Reviews all project communications (Requests for Information, shop drawings, requests for construction change order directives/change orders, pay requests, etc.) and recommends to management action to be taken.
  • Observes work in progress (when feasible) at all project sites noting, recording, and reporting the activities of the contractor and other personnel associated with the project.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all projects are properly permitted and documented.
  • Coordinates all warranty work between contractors, subcontractors, and Maintenance District.
  • Represents Facilities Management at Capital Projects meetings.
  • Performs Emergency Standby Duty.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Construction Technology, Engineering, Facilities Management or closely related field and three years of experience in facilities project administration, construction administration, or an equivalent combination of education, or experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver License.

Note:

Must be able to work flexible schedules as needed for emergency on call needs.

May be required to provide own transportation to perform work related duties.
