This key position performs advanced mechanical work and supervises others in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment in County buildings.
Work is performed with considerable independence and the exercise of independent judgment under the supervision of District Maintenance Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through meetings, conferences, reports, and results achieved. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Supervises lower-level employees and coordinates with other trades.
- Installs, maintains and/or repairs a variety of refrigeration units and cooling/heating equipment.
- Diagnoses electrical and control issues in HVAC systems.
- Inspects and adjusts refrigeration, air-conditioning and heating equipment and controls to ensure efficient operations.
- Adjusts and replaces parts, valves, and electrical components.
- Uses computerized Building Automation System (BAS) systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Completion of coursework in HVAC principles and have a coursework certification in electronics, computer, or compressor tear down/controls.
Must have a Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License. |
