General Functions |
|
This key position completes and processes work orders for repair and preventive maintenance to County vehicles.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of a Foreman. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports, and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Prepares work orders for unscheduled maintenance on County vehicles and equipment; coordinates scheduling with the Shop Foreman.
- Maintains logs and filing systems as required.
- Assists in operating the service desk.
- Notifies appropriate divisions upon completion of maintenance work.
- Operates a four-way radio and dispatches service personnel to appropriate locations.
- Processes requisitions for specialized repairs performed outside the shop.
- Issues tools as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in equipment service writing. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted. |

Preferences |
|
Experience using fleet maintenance software or similar work order tracking systems. |
