PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT SUPERVISOR

General Functions
   Supervises a unit assigned to a department or division within Orange County.

This is a responsible supervisory and professional staff work in the review, planning, development, and implementation of programs for a section, department or division.

An employee in this position supervises Program Unit(s) within a section, department or division. The unit is responsible for meeting the performance goals of specific program(s) and/or grant contracts. The incumbent must be able to exercise independent judgment in the oversight and supervision of these responsibilities.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Division or Section Manager or his/her designee and is reviewed for the achievement of desired results through conferences and reports.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Supervises unit staff in the performance of their specific duties; prioritizes, assigns and monitors tasks and projects.
  • Designs and oversees database and resources library for the section.
  • Designs, develops and oversees program evaluation, performance and outcome monitoring systems and related reporting mechanisms.
  • Oversees and participates in training analysis and development/coordination of staff training and development activities for the section, department or division.
  • Conducts organizational and program analysis and reports results to the Section or Division Manager.
  • Coordinates development of the annual strategic plan for the section, department or division as related to their program(s).
  • Consults with staff with regards to organizational and programmatic issues.
  • Oversees design, development, implementation and evaluation of new programs and services for the department or division.
  • Performs other staff assignments as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in (field of study will be specified on requisition) and five years of progressively responsible experience (type of experience will be specified on requisition). A Master’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience.

Based on area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain a valid Florida Operator’s license.
