(9450) MANAGER II- MENTAL HEALTH & HOMELESS ISSUES

General Functions
   This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing services for Orange County residents requiring mental health/substance abuse intervention and for addressing the homelessness issue. Performs as contract manager for the Central receiving Center (CRC), Baker Act and drug treatment services. This position will also be involved in special projects related to homelessness, transitional housing, grant development and disaster mental health planning.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Provides for management of the contracts and planning associated with the Central Receiving Center (CRC).
  • Coordinates homeless issues for Orange County, including Phase 2 CRC, and east Orange County homeless camps pilot project.
  • Serves on the Regional Commission on Homelessness, partnering with the City of Orlando, Seminole and Osceola counties.
  • Participates in continued planning with providers, local hospitals and DCF on continuum of care issues for Orange County.
  • Serves on Juvenile Justice Mental Health Strategic Planning committee, and chairs Coalition Treatment Committee.
  • Serves on MH/SA Task Force, OATH Board, MH Association Board, Fact Team Board, and PIC as Orange County representative.
  • Works on federal and state legislative and funding issues for substance abuse, mental health and housing initiatives.
  • Serves as point of contact for disaster mental health for Orange County emergency response initiatives.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelors degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or a closely related field and four years experience in the management of substance abuse and mental health services.
 
Preferences
   Prefer supervisory experience, experience in contract administration and leadership in community partnerships and consensus building. Prefer Masters Degree in one of the above stated fields.
