SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL LOSS PREVENTION ANALYST

General Functions
   Conducts, coordinates and/or supervises: site inspections of County properties for potential Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues and provides oversight of IAQ abatement and containment procedures; Oversees contract compliance related to the County Industrial Hygiene Consulting Services and Environmental Remediation Services contracts.

Work is performed with independence under the general supervision of the Environmental Loss Prevention Coordinator. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Reviews all technical reports by consultants and contractors. Advises Environmental Loss Prevention Coordinator on potential environmental issues or concerns.
  • Ensures that departments are in full compliance with federal and state regulations regarding Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and asbestos/lead based paint issues and provides recommendations on the policies and procedures to become compliant.
  • Oversees the investigations for IAQ, Phase I/Phase II, and asbestos and lead based paint abatement or control.
  • Assists with site inspections of County properties that have hazardous material or waste present; environmental site assessments; contamination assessments; remedial actions; underground and aboveground storage tank removal, upgrades and installation; and oversight of contract compliance on the County’s environmental clean-up assessment contracts.
  • Directs and participates in assessments, sampling and remediation activities.
  • Oversees the installation or removal of petroleum storage tanks and acts as the backup to the Environmental Loss Prevention Coordinator for coordinating emergency response for pollution activities and as project manager for pollution remediation projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a closely related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in environmental program management; or an equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.

Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations. Technically knowledgeable in all aspects of Phase I/Phase II assessments, IAQ, petroleum storage tank regulations, and asbestos/lead based paint abatement and containment procedures.
 
Preferences
   Knowledge in site assessments, drilling, remedial actions and processes, sampling, underground and aboveground storage tank removal, upgrades and installation.
