SYSTEMS ANALYST

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   Writes codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains applications/programs based on specifications provided. Provides analysis and recommendations for client's business needs. Develops well-written recommendations, based on best business practices that provide alternatives, costs and time frames. This is a senior level position in this career path.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the IT Project Leader. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Develops, enhances, installs, and tests computer software applications based on specifications. Writes complex structured query language (SQL) queries.
  • Designs and develops complex databases.
  • Performs complex workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Analyses and troubleshoots application problems working with technical staff and customers.
  • Leads project team in small to medium size projects and coordinates team tasks with assistance of technical leads.
  • Analyses client's business needs and provides recommendations for automated solutions.
  • Monitors client systems for performance and efficiency.
  • Communicates and interacts with customer contacts and functions as a liaison to increase efficiency and functionality of software applications.
  • Provides on call support as needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Documents applications, technical specifications and user manuals.
  • Maintains current technology expertise.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or closely related field and four years of recent progressively responsible programming and systems analysis experience. One year of experience must have included responsibility for project management and implementation.
