IT SECURITY TECHNICIAN

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Performs installation, maintenance and repair of all County electronic security and video surveillance components and maintenance of electronic doors. This is skilled technical work installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic security and access control systems.

Work is performed under supervision of the IT Security Architect or their designee and is evaluated on accuracy, efficiency and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Performs installations of all type of electronic devices including surveillance cameras and security doors.
  • Installs cable and connectors and performs cross-connect functions required to physically connect devices to the electronic security network.
  • Installs computer workstations, servers, electronic security boards and video hardware and cross connects to enterprise systems. Tests all connections for functionality.
  • Troubleshoots hardware, software, circuits and components to isolate and identify problem sources. May work with internal staff or vendors to solve problems.
  • Maintains various records including problems and repairs, installation sites including floor plans and cable records and materials used.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   High school diploma or equivalent and two years of electronics hardware and software experience including access control, relay boards, circuitry, server and workstation experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License by date of hire.

Must be available to work after hours as needed.
