SENIOR SYSTEMS TRAINING SPECIALIST

General Functions
   This position is responsible for the county’s technical training program. It oversees contract fulfillment and service levels of an outsourced training function. The position assigns personnel to the various training tasks and directs their activities; reviews and evaluates their work and prepares performance reports. It confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical training, priorities and methods. The position consults with personnel in other information systems sections to coordinate activities.

This position is responsible for organizing, preparing and conducting complex training and educational programs for information systems or user personnel. It designs and develops in-house training programs. The position is responsible for maintaining reports on employee progress and training program effectiveness.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Directs Orange County’s Technical Training program.
  • Supervises Systems Training Specialists.
  • Designs and develops in-house training curriculum, including training materials.
  • Instructs classes with the assistance of appropriate support group.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Human Resources Development and Training, Education or a related field of study and five years of experience in technical training in Computer Science, Training and/or supporting users in a desktop computing environment, training theory and design and initiating, developing, maintaining and evaluating training programs. Additional experience in technical support, technical training, developing and implementing a training program may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.

Software and Equipment Skills Required

Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Operating Systems.

Prefer experience in County’s current Help Desk software and other County supported software.
